Kyrene Akimel A-al serves students in grades 6-8 and is located in Phoenix, north of the Gila Indian Reservation and is built on land once inhabited by the Akimel A-al O’odham people and their ancestors, the Hohokam. Akimel A-al students have the option to enroll in a Dual Language program, which helps students both socially and cognitively; develop greater non-verbal problem solving abilities; and more flexible thinking.
