STUDENT CLUBS

 

Akimel A-al offers a variety of clubs, activities, and organizations for students. 

For questions, please reach out to the sponsor of the club you are interested in.

District Policy: Permission slips, signed by a parent/guardian are required for student participation in all extracurricular activities.  If a student is interested in participating in a club, activity or organization, please have them reach out to the sponsors or stop by the front office to get a permission slip. The permission slip must be signed by both student and parent/guardian prior to attending the meeting.

AKI Rock Band

Meeting Date: Friday (First meeting Friday, August 22, 2025)

Meeting Time: After school, 3:05pm-4:15pm

Where: Room D6

Mission:

If you love music, want to jam with others, or just want to learn something new — this is your spot. All instruments and skill levels are welcome! Currently we have a bass, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, keyboard, and some mics. Feel free to bring in your own instrument!

We will be meeting on most Fridays after school until 4:15. 

Open to everyone — come make some noise and have a blast!

 

 

 

 

CNM - Campus News Magazine

The club is for CNM students who stay after school to cover events. These students attend games, performances, and other school activities to capture the moments that matter most. They will put the videos together to create our weekly CNM show!

 

Creative Writing Club

The creative writing club is to provide a safe place to express written ideas, to learn creative writing techniques and tips, and to receive constructive feedback from peers.

Rattler Pride Drama Club is a place where students can further their Theatre Arts education while having a great time! Drama Club will consist of theatrical games, concentration workshops, working with Desert Vista Speech and Debate and Theatre and Mountain Thespian Club, outings to see other middle school and high school shows and more!!!!

 

 

 

Jazz Club

Meeting Days: Friday (will not meet on a early release Friday)

Where: Room D3

Jazz Band is an extension of the Akimel A-al band program for students to explore and perform various styles of Jazz music. Students will learn how to listen to, perform and improvise with these styles of music in a group setting. Students will perform at concerts and at local festivals.

 

 

 

Jewelry Club

Meeting Days: Every other Thursday

Meeting Times: 3:05pm-4:15pm

Jewelry club is a place where student artisans can meet to learn new jewelry-making techniques and create items such as friendship bracelets, pip-cleaner rings, beaded bracelets, necklaces, keychains and more!

 

 

National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.  NJHS students and their peers volunteer in their communities at the highest rates and make connecting with and serving within the community a priority.

The club is for Yearbook students who stay after school to cover events. These students attend games, performances, and other school activities to capture the moments that matter most. Their photos help tell the story of our year and bring our yearbook to life.
