STUDENT CLUBS

 

Akimel A-al offers a variety of clubs, activities, and organizations for students. 

For questions, please reach out to the sponsor of the club you are interested in.

District Policy: Permission slips, signed by a parent/guardian are required for student participation in all extracurricular activities.  If a student is interested in participating in a club, activity or organization, please have them reach out to the sponsors or stop by the front office to get a permission slip. The permission slip must be signed by both student and parent/guardian prior to attending the meeting.

Art Club

Mission: In Akimel Art Club, our mission is to inspire creativity, foster artistic skills, and build a supportive community where every student can explore their unique artistic talents and express themselves through a variety of art forms.

 

 

Banana Splits Club

Mission: To provide a supportive, inclusive, and safe space for kids of divorced or separated families to speak openly about their stories and offer peer guidance on healthy ways to cope with shared experiences at home. 

 

 

Chess Club

Meeting Time: 7:30 am-8:00 am

Chess Club is designed to give students an opportunity to learn the game of chess, improve their chess skills, and to enjoy challenging their peers, while experiencing healthy competition and team spirit. Chess is used to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making. While the students will have the chance to track their progress and to compete in chess matches, our main focus will be to encourage learning, sportsmanship, and fun.

 

Creative Writing Club

The creative writing club is to provide a safe place to express written ideas, to learn creative writing techniques and tips, and to receive constructive feedback from peers.

Rattler Pride Drama Club is a place where students can further their Theatre Arts education while having a great time! Drama Club will consist of theatrical games, concentration workshops, working with Desert Vista Speech and Debate and Theatre and Mountain Thespian Club, outings to see other middle school and high school shows and more!!!!

 

 

Jewelry Club

Jewelry club is a place where student artisans can meet to learn new jewelry-making techniques and create items such as friendship bracelets, pip-cleaner rings, beaded bracelets, necklaces, keychains and more!

 

National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.  NJHS students and their peers volunteer in their communities at the highest rates and make connecting with and serving within the community a priority.

Mission:  Swiftie Club is a just-for-fun leisure club with a mission to bring together fans of Taylor Swift through shared appreciation of her contributions to the music and entertainment industries.  Join us for fun events such as karaoke, trivia, bracelet making, and the opportunity to build friendships with other Swifties!
